Strut Bar worth it?

I've got my ride lowered bout 2 inches on ground controls with kyb adjustables in the front but i want to make the suspension a stiffer on turns without spending 200+ for a sway bar. Would a strut bar help me that much, i've heard diff things about them as to whether or not they help. And, if so, which would be better bang for the buck: OEM Type-R strut bar, DCSports, Greddy, Skunk2, Spoon Sports, or Tanabe (keeping in mind that i can get an OEM type-r strut bar off ebay for really cheap). thanx

I've got an type r bar and I think it was practically pointless. They don't do that much for your car, I didn't notice a difference at all. But Neuspeed makes a 4-point bar which is awesome. That's the only other bar that I'd get.

I took my stock one off my GSR and my cornering was really sluggish. It just helps to stabalize the car in corners. IMO, i think it is worth it to go buy one.

A strut bar will help a bit on hi-perf corners, but if you want much better handling for your teg you have got to get a thicker rear sway bar. This will make your turning much flatter and more stable. It will make you handling much more neutral (less understeer) and suspension travel will be lessened in turns. All a strut/tie bar is going to do is stiffen the chassis, which is a good thing but there will be less of a noticable difference. If you do get a sway bar, make sure you get one with subframe reinforcement hardware.

Personally for a daily driver you will not see any differences with a strut bar. If you compete in road racing or autocross you will see a difference, but if your car is stock and you add strut bars you will be kicked out of stock class in SCCA.

rear sway bar would be more worthwhile than gettnig a strut brace, but to each his own

how do you know how thick to get the sway bar? i have a 00 civic.

22-24mm or 3/4"-7/8" are the average aftermarket sizes

I had a generic front upper strut bar and I felt a difference. Now I have a Spoon one, I could totally feel a difference between these two strut bars so there IS a difference with what company you go with. I would choose Spoon (JDM) :D
