Hey guys, Ive got a 92 with a 5 speed and a 3.1 After it sits for a little bit and I go to start it, it cranks for seriously like 10-15 seconds sometimes, and then starts. It acts as though its not going to start at all, then it just starts up like normal. People with me often get panicked and think its not going to start. Just wondering if this is a normal thing with these, or if any of you guys have any suggestions or ideas. Thanks

Nice sarcasm. That always gets people to want to help.
Anyway, I'm not familiar with the 3.1 Rodeo's so if you give a little more info about the engine, it might help. Does it have a distributor? Is it carburated or fuel injected? If it has a distributor you might want to check the timing. Maybe a leaky intake or carb/throttle body base gasket? Valve adjustment maybe? Check for leaky vacuum lines or loose wires.

I just get frustrated because it seems as though nobody ever replies to my posts and I try my best to help others out when I can. The 3.1 is throttle body injected, a carbeurator with a fuel injector spraying into it basically...

just a quick update, I have also noticed that anything above 3k rpms and it just has no power, its sluggish and I literally couldnt redline it if I wanted to, at about 4500 it just wont rev anymore, its like its running out of breath. It definately doesnt have the power that it should. My girlfriend lives up a fairly steep hill and once I get towards the top I am almost having to go into 2nd gear to keep going, and the speed limit is 55 and I cant even maintain 45. My brothers 4 runner with stock gears and 33'' tires went up the hill about the same, so this rodeo with stock tire size on it should go alot better then that. Any ideas? Maybe just a general tune up?

Sounds like its starved for fuel. Start with a new fuel filter and then get your fuel injector cleaned. Chase your fuel line back to the tank checking for kinks or dings in the hard line. You might want to check the air filter to see if its clogged up. Check your PCV valve also. If none of that works, check your fuel pressure. Could have a weak pump or a defective pressure regulator. I'm not sure what the fuel pressure is supposed to be though.
You never did say if it has a distributor or not. If it does, your vacuum advance might not be working properly.
