i have a quadrajet 4 bbl on it right now. i plan on rebuilding an old holley i have sitting in the garage. i was wondering what affect a carb spacer has. i already have one. i havent installed it yet. will i be able to notice a difference with the spacer. how does it work.

carb spacers swirl the air going into the manifold, which at lower rpm can cut off torque below about idle-1400 but above that it creates a greater sucking into the top of the motor and more air+ more fuel= more power, also it can help tame an oversized carb... lets say if you had a mostly stock L69 305 motor and you put a holley 750 dp on it, it would help push the extra fuel into the motor, which will help you regain the power that you lost from too much fuel for the small mouse but not as much as just getting a well performing smaller carb w/o a spacer.
