Notice how I didnt say cheap mod, because nothing on our cars are cheap.I got a K&n drop-in,and bosch platinums(which I heard I shouldnt have),and was wondering what you guys think I should get next. I dont want to save up for an exhaust, because it will take too long and Im anxious to get more power.I found a guy on grandamownersclub who makes intakes for the 3400,for pretty cheap, but I cant get ahold of him cuz my e-mail is screwy, and my name on there wont let me post or PM anyone.I would buy a Doctorspeed stage 3,but I would probably only see a few more hp than what my K&n gives me for so much more money.I was thinking maybe a new crank pulley,or what about poly mounts? RSM makes them I think.I would go for a DH PCM but it would work much better with exhaust.I really want a CAI but the K&n will do for now.and sorry for such a long post.

What i did for my exhaust was, buy the parts one by one over the winter and then in the spring/summer i had it all installed. that might be an option for you.

you can get a catback exhaust system for around $650 which isn't too bad, especially if you put it in yourself.

I honestly am trying to find a job. Hopefully many places will be hiring for the holiday season. I just went to Home Depot and autozone looking for 3in aluminum intake pipe(neither had any)and autozone didnt have any couplers to hold them together, also I would have to get rubber grommets to hold the intake sensors or whatever(this is for making my own intake;f*** doctor speed its too expensive,no offense) Autozone had some sort of civic intake pipe for $39,but I didnt have it on me and I would have to cut it anyway for the MAF anyway,so everything I try to do never turns out the way I want it.

Yea.. I know the feeling, good luck though in finding a job.
Once you start getting some income, places like Dr. Speed wont seem so bad. One idea I thought of is if you have anything you can pawn or sell to a friend for some extra $$$ ie. game console or something of that sort... more than likely you'll get more money from a friend than a pawn but its just an idea to help you out. :)

ohh man up that price...
I sold mine for $180

Gamecube, 2 controllers, 3 mem cards, 6 games...

Gamecube should be at least be in the range of $45-$60 depending on how good of condition it is... goes with controllers too in a bundle of quality... mem cards $2-$5 .. Games in general... at least $10-$17 depending on the game and how well it was taken care of... do some math and tell me what you come up with.

All my stuff was in great shape.. hardly played.
The price ranges may seem high, but thats just how a pawn shop is gonna stick it to you when they re-sell.

I had a K&N filter, but switched back to the paper one after reading independant tests that demonstrated the K&N allowed more dirt to pass through, yet the AC Delco paper filters still flowed pretty good. That, and the filter is so large, any restrictions the paper may have over the K&N are compensated by the fact that the paper offers a much larger surface area (a lot more pleats in that huge sucker). In my own testing between a brand new paper filter and freshly oiled K&N filter, I can honestly say there's absolutely no difference in mileage or performance but my oil stays cleaner longer.

As for the spark plugs, I really honestly can't see what advantage the Bosche platinums would have over the stock platinums. Also, the stock exhaust system flows pretty well for the stock motor.

If you have the V6 and the ATX transmission, do be aware that once you pass 210 lb. ft. of torque, the transmission won't be able to keep up and will eventually fail. That said, you can free up some power by eliminating the power steering and air conditioning in your car. Completely remove the A/C to lose some weight while you're at it. Other than that, your best option is a supercharger in these cars and upgrade the transmission.

I know the stock trans cant hold a lot of power,so Im going to get a tranny cooler to keep the temps a little lower. I definitely am not giving up my A/C, or power steering.Im not going forced induction, because my car has too many miles(119k)which is another reason I plant to get a tranny cooler before major mods.
but I'll prob get an SLP exhaust next, then a CAI and lighter flywheel.
