yup, he does the same with loads of p/e sets too. how come he's not done under copyright laws ?

SMS just released those decal too and they aren't an "idea robber" company.

This is a very popular livery of the same bike. There isn't 30 way to make it, every decals sheet will look like the renaissance (since they were the first)

You can be sure it was copywrited. However, it is possible Crazy Modeler did his/their own artwork. It's really the artwork that is copywritable- there's no exclusive 'intellectual property' involved in producing a set of decals for a particular car (assuming licensing with the original owner of rights of the designs for the actual car is properly addressed). It's the same as Fujimi and Revell both putting out an F430- as long as they have permission from Ferrari, it's completely legit. Or, and Crazy Modeler is in mainland China, it's equally possible that it was produced without regard for international copyright law. Many Chinese businesses are notorious for this.

Damn, why is everyone always trying to bust Crazymodelers balls? Let him do what he is doing, if he is cheaper then buy his. If he is not cheaper then buy from the other guys. When he steals your idea or something you have a copyright on then you can get pissed about that.

In this case it looks to me as if the artwork has not been "stolen". It looks to be different to the Renaissance sheet. However, I'd be 100% certain the Renaissance sheet is superior in every way.

And please be careful calling people and/or things stupid. Doesn't reflect well on the insigator.

Hey corydos63, renaissance is French right? I understand you are protecting your country. But do you know how poor quality the renaissance is? And very very expensive....... Have you ever try the crazy modeler's decals? That's much cheaper and better than the renaissance. Try one asap, but don't throw away your french decal haha...

I don't care it's french or what, honestly ,there's just enough room in modelling word to avoid repetition in certain subjects, especially when it looks the same...Like the M1 PH etched sheet from ST27, same as Renaissance.....No laws against it , sure, but the market ain't that very productive right now, so it would be better if everybody'd stop copy each other, there are plenty of other subjects....

I don't think so, Do u buy CrazyModels Decal? The price and the qulity that is my first think about before i decide to buy. so a good decal manufacturer is good for us.Many brand decal who design it? The first decal has copyright and Other decal have not copyright?

Well... Not sure we need to be polemic on this subject. It was obvious that many aftermarket manufacturers would propose these decals. And, maybe, copy the Renaissance ones, as they were the first to release theirs. :rolleyes:

I wouldn't be surprised if decal sheets coming from different manufacturers finally look quite the same, as there just can't be million ways to design such a specific subject... But I must admit one can be doubtfull if two of those look exactly the same... :eek7:

Anyway, as there's surely nothing that can actually be done but misunderstanding each others*, I'd rather suggest that one -rich- modeler buys 3 Tamiya Yamaha M1 + a set of decal from each manufacturer (Renaissance, Crazy Modelers & SMS), and proposes us both a comparative kit review and in-progress thread, just to have the pros and cons of each versions... :lol2::loser:

Because in fact that's all we need to know. And if many different releases of the same subject permit to every modelers in the world to afford one, and aftermarket manufacturers to live, I think "copying" - as it has already been done many times - is not such a big problem, after all...

(*: Corydos didn't mean all decals made by Crazy Modelers were copies, he just told he thought these ones were too close to the Renaissance's ones to his eyes... and I think anybody can admit that having exactly the same extras pieces of texture to fill eventual gaps in the silver web is quite mind questionning... Even if, as previously said, it's quite common to see the same choices, and mistakes, appearing in decal sheets coming from different makers...)

so just my 2 cents as designer of the original one.

I add some spare of the diamond shape, to help in case of problem during decalling; they are marked with a "+" on the sheet, and their design came from the free space.

These spares are exactly the same on Crazy's sheet, numbered "33-34-35-36", and it could be interesting to know why they did it, using these particular shape...

The likes of Cyberbaby are "this far" away from a ban. I know you are only attempting to defend Crazy Modeller but your way of going about it is not welcome here. And corydos63, unless you have better evidence do not post any more "copycat" threads.

Finally - Renaissance rule! :) Nobody is better than them for accuracy in my experience.
