Hey, I don't hang around this forum much, but I've got a 95 Escort... the engine was fried when the headgasket went, but the transmission was fine. I have since obtained a 1991 Dodge Stealth... the Stealth has developed transmission problems... I am planning on doing a rebuild, but I don't have much money at the moment... I am gonna part out the Escort...
Starting with the transmission... the transmission worked fine... everything but the engine... if you got any inquiries, let me know at [email protected] .... I'm planning on selling most everything... but the system I had in it was stolen.. so the passenger door will be missing glass... I will get back with the mileage on the car tomorrow... but it has less than 200K, I think less than 150k... it was a great and economical car... I just can't fix both... get with me if you want any parts... I've already got the airbags pulled out, and the computer, I'm still working on getting the wire harness for them out... but most anything is for sale...

anyone interested in any parts... I'm not looking to make much off the car... $600 for whole thing, and I'll be happy... if not I'll be posting individual parts on e-bay

ok, car was a 1.9l Escort LX(95)... white... there's rear fender (driver's side) damage.... other than that the body is in good shape... the car had 176k miles on it... my family has had it since it left the dealership with 25 miles on it... it is a 5-speed. The transmission shifted fine, never had a problem with that... it was only on its second clutch a valeo with maybe 7k miles... then the head gasket blew... partly my fault, I went cheap when cleaning out the intake manifold, and used some ATV gasket instead of an intake manifold gasket... and the sealant began leaking... the head gasket blew, and water was in oil... I haven't messed with it since... b/c someone broke into it while it was broke down and stole the system out of it...
If you'd like parts, PM me with an offer...

I'll take the tranny. Just drop it off at my place.

you see... I would but... that defeats the whole purpose of trying to part it out... and make back my investment...

But I'll pay you for it.

Pm me an offer and location... I'll want a certain amount for the transmission, plus shipping... if you're not close enough to deliver... I stay in the Rocky Mount-Wilson area in NC... won't go more than 50 miles... right now, that won't be easy... I've still got my 3000gt's transmission apart... in the middle of a rebuild... the parts just came in last night...

I'll pay you what the local U-pull junk yard charges for a tranny. And that's $80, a fair price considering your has 176k miles, I can usally find them with 120k or less for that price. You did'nt say anything about location in your first 3 posts, so I assumed you'd take care of transportation.
