Ok guys, dont know what to do, 92, lumina, 3.1. have always had problems starting, when i turned the key, it would click then nothing, but when i turned the key again, she would start up and go. no problems running at all, then last week. I ran to the store, no problems, came back home to drop off the milk and leave again, and from then on she wont start at all, ? starter? ignition? selinoid?

Are you saying it won't crank, nothing? Is your battery fully charged? Have you tried using jumper cables on it? If this is an automatic, have you tied starting in neutral? Leave the dome lite on, turn the key to crank, how does the lite react? If it dims badly or goes out, I would check the battery and cables. You could run voltage to the starter field terminal to see if the starter would spin, but we're getting ahead of ourselves. If you try something like that, make sure the tranny is in park or neutral and the e-brake is set.

I bet you have a bad starter. When they first start to go bad, they will intermittently not start, usually after the engine is warm and you shut it off for a short time then try to re-start. Eventually , it won't start at all.

Good to know... I have a 91 lumina and I'm having the same problem... I figured it was the starter... Dad figured it was the starter... From the looks of it it's my starter. Hoping this will be the end of my troubles for awhile
