Hi All,

I also have a question regarding the Syclones All Wheel Drive system. If you increase the 4.3's horse power (ie Garret Tubo) to say, 450 hp, can the AWD drive train handle it?

Appreciate any thoughts, SC

yes, the AWD (transfercase) can probably hold up to 1000HP, the transmission on the other hand....well bone stock one wont last long behind 450HP, and a TH700R4 cant be built to hold much more than 600HP max.

I thought the Syclones tranny came from the 91' Vette? We'll I guess the Vette didn't have 450hp.......not even the vaunted ZF tranny from the ZR-1.

Thanks NJTy180, Appreciate the reply. :)

some of the internal parts came from the Vette sure, but even in the Vette the transmission was only rated at 285HP, which is why the SyTys were rated at 280, then 285 in 93. In 1991-1992, the Corvette still had normal TH700R4 with better servos and tweeked valvebody, it was nothing special.
