Radiator flush question

hey guys. now i feel its about that time to flush the radiator of its old and dirty fluid and refill it with some fresh antifreeze/coolant. Before i flush the existing coolant is there any other bolt or washer im supposed to loosen or take off other then the radiator plug. For instance, the "engine drain bolt" and its washer. Even with a diagram of where it is located, I am still having trouble finding this bolt. If i do need to take this out, can someone please help me a little more into telling me where might be located? I am actually considering doing the flush and refill without taking this bolt into consideration.

Ok, that engine drain bolt is worthless, forget about it. First, put the old coolant back in and add a bottle of coolant system cleaner and drive around for an hour or whatever it calls for. (You don't have to do this, but I recomend it for a thorough job) Then, drain the radiator and put the plug back in. Now, since you're flushing, I recomend you replace your thermostat. It's on the back left of the motor where the lower radiator hose goes to. Take out the two bolts and pop out the thermostat and gasket.(Coolant will flow out, just hose your motor off later.) Now, put the pieces back together WITHOUT the thermostat in. Unhook the lower radiator hose from the radiator and put a bucket under the radiator. Get your garden hose out and have your buddy start the engine and you begin to spray water into that hose. The water goes through the engine, then down the radiator and out the bottem. The bucket will fill up with mostly the old coolant, when its full, just push it aside and continue feeding the water through the system untill its clear comming out the bottem. Then stop spraying and let the engine get all the water out then turn the motor off. Put the new thermostat in with the little bead facing up. Hook your lines back up and fill with new coolant. Bada-boom. You're done.

A thermostat is about a 10$ part. If you have an old one in there and if it gets stuck shut, you're looking at some major problems. Just a suggestion.

I decided to just leave the antifreeze inside cuz as we started to drain it, it actually looked pretty good... i should have known it would still be good since it was only done a couple years ago... thank you guys for giving me some much needed advice and help ...appreciate it.
