Here's the start of my next project. C6 vette in nassau blue metallic (factory GM color)

Here is a shot in primer, with a sample swatch of the color I will use.

Love the color!
So when you paint a metalic color on a white primer how do you prevent the white from showing through o nsharp edges/lines?

I think it is done. :lol2: I built a catch can for it and affixed the wipers. Nothing left to do :dunno:

I'll try to post a few final pics shortly

I think it depends on how thin or thick the paint your shooting is. If the paint is right I just try to be as consistant as possible with coverage.

I took each shot with and without a flash to give you a better idea of how the lights play off the paint.

Great looking vette so far! How does that spray compare to Tamiya sprays? I've been a little hesitant on using it because of Testors other spray cans that never seem to dry.

Awesome!!! I've been wanting to try those lacquer paints for a while now. Looks really really clean!!! I look forward to seeing the completed model. Keep it up!

Thanks guys :iceslolan

I was really surprised how nice this paint was. My dad used to build and I think I sparked his interest in modeling again by emailing him links to peoples models on AF that I thought he would like. He wanted to go to a hobby shop and while we were there, he picked the nassau blue color for my C6.

I was leary of using something besides tamiya rattle cans, but this paint was smooth, and beautiful in the end. It definately drys a bit quicker then average.

Man, you said Nassau blue and I was thinking the really bright Nassau blue they put on the Vettes in 98ish...Still, it looks nice though...I just got excited because the late model Nassau is really close to my 1:1 Mustang's color and I wanted to know what paint you used :(

I remember I was working on a C6 once

It needs...one color coat...and clear...and that is all

Beautiful color! I don't like it on the C6 tho. I'm sorry. I re-re-repainted mine and it came out looking like that color. It does look great man, it just reminds me of mine. Keep up the awsome progress.
