I have a 1994 740il. Would like to understand how to remove the door seal at the lowest point of the door. This is visible when the door is closed from the outside. Need to do small rust repair but dont want to destroy seal in the process. Does anyone have experience with this?

If the seal is loose or hanging, it's shot anyway. They're cheap. If your going to fix it, fix it right. They pull right off

The seal is in great shape. This just appear to be a press fit, I was just hoping to find a method to remove it without total destruction.

Thx for your reply.

When the door bottom rusts, the rust spreads out the channel of the seal. Once the rust is repaired, the seal channel will be too wide to properly retain the seal to the lower door edge

Thanks for the info. I called my local BMW dealer and the part is $55.44. Any suggestions for a less expensive source for this part?
