Need help with sensor

Does the 95 Eclipse RS (non-turbo) have a sensor in the reservoir tank and does anyone know what it is called? I've checked in my haynes manual and talked to the guys at autozone and so far no one knows. Thanks!!

I think he means the windshield, because a coolant tank is called an overfill tank...although if that's the case, that's probably why they can't figure it out.

There is a little connector piece on the bottom of the tank, facing toward the front of the car. I don't know if you can buy just that piece. I'm not even sure if it does anything. When I bought a new tank from the dealer not too long ago, that connector piece came with it.
What problems are you having? Need more info

Only by default, he didn't call it the right thing, after working as a warranty admin i'm used to calling all the parts by their exact names...lol :tongue:
It depends on the car, on ours i'm not sure cause i haven't had to replace it, but i've seen some units where you have to replace the whole tank and not just the sensor. All it does is monitor overfill levels, if it gets to low, the coolant light comes on.

The sensor does no cause the light to come on if coolant level is under that in the overflow. When my last tank leaked and was empty most the time, it didn't come on. It didn't come on until the car started overheating once.

Do you think I'm gonna cause any damage to the car driving it? The temp is fine and I've been keeping an eye on the levels. Don't know what else to do.

Couldn't you just go to a junk yard and get a used overfill and sensor? Then at least you don't have to describe it as much just point at the part and say "thats what I need right there" and problem solved.

I tried that today...no junk yard around had one. I ended up having to get it from a dealer. Had to pay $50, but if it fixes it, it's worth it :)
