ive heard that its alot cheaper to import to canada, do you know why that is? Im in alaska, so i was thinking about getting a jdm car shipped to canada and pick it up myself. how much cheaper is it to do that compared to US rates? Also, what are some well known or dependable shipping companies to go through?

I was looking to get a 90- 93 toyota mr2 maybe rhd, and/or a 90- 93 toyota celica all-trac maybe rhd.

you can get cars imported cheaper to canada because they're legal there once they're 15 years old. You won't be able to register it in the US, so unless you have a friend across the border who will let you register the car in his name, you're out of luck.

why wouldnt i be able to register them in the US? both of those cars can be found here (the LHD ones atleast) and are just very rare.

And there are companies in canada that take orders for cars like these for customers in the US.

you can register them here because the cars weren't built for US emissions. Its a trade issue, if you were able to import cars from countries like that all you wanted it would completely kill the used car market in the US.
