Couple of questions

I have a 1995 3.1. I bought this car used so I am not sure exactly what has or has not been changed on it. So I thought I would all of you.

I have been getting some rough idle so I checked the pcv valve and noticed that the hose it was connected to does not go any where. It is just hanging there.

Also I went to crank it this morning and it would start but immediately die. I am going to pick up a new pcv valve today and install it.

Finally what are some symptoms of a failing fuel pump. I took it to the shop when I first bought it to get an oil change and they told me I should get a new fuel pump.
