The Sol is having many things go wrong with it. And now, the CD deck. I bought the car with an aftermarket deck in it. There is a small amount of room on each side of the deck, but it cannot be wiggled. No play what-so-ever. I don't know how to remove the deck so I canreplace it. I do not know hsit about car audio. Any help would be most appreciated.

What brand head unit? Anyway, youll need the special removal tool for that perticular company. Some interchange, some don't. The removal tools are basically like two "keys" the go in the space on either side, latch in, then when you pull the tools, the head unit comes out. A DIN removal tool will not work, they are for taking out factory head units. I checked on crutchfield and thats all they sell. I would say call the manufacturer and let them know, or find a buddy that has their tools and try it.

i might have some. I installed a sony in my last del sol, and it came w/ the removal tools, but i noticed it woudnt click into place (the cd player). It might just be my car, but you might not need the tools. I had to remove the deck a few times, and all i had to do was take off the interior piece that goes around the shifter so you can get at it, then reach behind the cd player from under it and try to push it out. worked for me, its worth a try.
