2003 GTP Limited Edition *my pride and joy* - Still under factory warrenty - 22k on it. I called my local Pontiac dealership and asked about remote starters. The "pleasant" service worker informed me that basically I was an idiot for even considering having a remote starter installed - (maybe due to my lack of testosterone??). And 'Of Course' they don't install anything like that. I believe I have an anti-theft system (thus the horn and lights going nuts for what seems no reason), and also has keyless entry. I thought I read in the forums that someone said some dealers Will do it?? I know the possible electrical problems can void out anything covered under factory. And I can foresee more electrical issues in the future--already had my window motor and blower motor resistor go to hell. But I'm really sick of running outside in my PJ's in 25 degree snow storms, just to start my car and run back inside. I obviously wouldn't even think of installing one myself. I want it done professionally so the blame is thrown at someone else other then me.
I'm really tossing this one around and I really want it. Buy it and have Pontiac dealer install? Have one installed at an aftermarkets shop? Amoungst other issues. ANY advice Anyone has for me would be great! Thanks for reading!

Circuit City and Best Buy both install remote start systems. but be forewarned, if you experience a problem, whoever installed it will claim it has nothing to do with the remote start. I had a 95 bonneville with the 3800 II, had a remote start installed and then all of a sudden my car would cut off in the middle of the highway at any speed, 55, 60, 80. Best Buy said it wasn't there fault, I finally had to kill the car (blew two engines, heh) and get my GTP.

Most dealers won't do it, I would no way go to a circuit city or a bestbuy for any sort of an install. They aren't required to have any trainning certification. I would go to a reputable car audio shop or a custom vehicle accessory shop as they do them all the time and are trainned correctly.

I almost forgot, compustars are expensive but they are worth it. The best ones out there.
