coming home from work today whenever i stopped steam would come from the front end. when i got home i popped the hood and it was steaming its ass off. i let cool off and started it up again and noticing that the fans were not coming on. is this a common problem with the 1993 3000gt? what should i check first? the thermostat, cooling temp sensor, relays? please help! i can't go a day without driving this car!!
it's my baby.

does your temp gauge work? what was it reading?

yes, what did you temperature gauge read?

you might check the thermostat. my 93 3000 base overheated once just randomly and turns out the thermostat had melted into one piece and wouldn't let coolant flow through the system. but as the 6G72 is a stout block, all i had to do was replace the thermostat.

same thing happend tome w/ 93 VR4. deffinitely check you thermostat. you cna test it by putting it in boiling water too see if it opens. it's a cheap and very quick fix (30 mins?) also, make sure you're coolant didnt just overflow from being too full, I've seen that happen too many times to count. let us know what's up. good luck.
