I think thats the clevor head lol. Cleveland head canted valve design applied to a windsor style head. I'm sure they would make a great set of heads but would probably be a little large for your application. You still useing a stock block and S-trim?

Not exactly your everyday smallblock Ford head.
Jon Kaase has won the Engine Masters Challenge several times, I have no doubts that these are top-notch heads, but it would take a lot of motor to breathe that damn much...

You would need at least a 351 to get some volume, port velocity on a 302 would be very low.
Canted design as been around for a long time, and is a very good set up. If I had not already bought my AFR 205s, I would buy these. The price is right, might need to upgrade the springs and valve for that price though. Hell, I upgraded mine on my 205s, and those heads cost twice as much.

Is that a set price or is it that much per head? I though it was $825 per head.

$825 is for the pair. I am still using the stock block with the S trim but I also added a main cap girdle for a little more support. The reason I was looking at these heads is because next year or so (after my wallet does a little healing) I think I might call CHP for that 331 shortblock. I think these heads would be a good match. I really like the valve placement.

Look again, it's a price per head, plus you're gonna have to spend 125 bucks for the specialized valve covers if I'm looking right.

Thats the way I understood it. Also I'm sure you would have to get custom flycut pistons to accept those valve angles as well.

Yep your right, there obviously real proud of those. O well I guess I'll just go for the AFR's or twisted wedge heads.

I have been a fan of AFR heads for a while and never really even considered Trick Flow heads. But now I wish I had bought TW's instead of my wimpy ass Edel's.

Wimpy Edel's? Really I thought they made a pretty good head.

Ah they make a decent head. The vic jr's are competitive. But the Performer and Performer RPM stuff is not worth it I dont think. You can get a better head for the same or less cabbage. TF heads are cheap and can be potent. My heads in sig cost me about $1150.

Don't feel bad, I got 2k in my heads. But they have been pro ported, so they flow a little better than normal, plus upgraded valce train as well, but knowing what I know now, should have went TWs.

Yeah you and I are in the same boat. I've got less than a grand in mine also and they came ported and with some work done to unshroud the valves. But when it comes motor time Im going with twisted wedge.

These heads are pretty sweet and I actually ordered a set last week for my engine I might someday get done. They are not cheap at $1600 for a set wit springs for hydraulic roller cam. Plus $200 or more for special valve covers to fit em and then buying chevy roller rockers cause that is what they use. But the price is not that bad considering the flow out of the box in the rarified air of the bigger AFR heads etc..,
As far as what you need for pistons I called John Kasse to find out and you can use em on stock 302's and 351W's but you have to watch what you do as far as cam. Also he gave me some very good information for using off-the shelf aftermarket pistons for certain CR.
Also they made great power on a bone-stock 150,000mile 87 5.0 motor and after swapping to a Vic jr carbed intake and a more aggressive comp cam combo the made 460hp@6,500rpm on it.

Yes I agree in the article for fun they decided to really push it they used a 256 degree solid roller wit the Vic Jr, 750carb and pushed it to 7800rpm but belted out 511hp! Obviously the stock bottom end wouldn't last but cool to see the potential.

Spinning a 302 like that, reminds of the ol' Boss. They could get over 600hp spining well over 8000. No torque what so ever. My boss is a dog on the street.
