:screwy: Hows it going guys? I have a question about my 1996 240sx. I plan on doing a sr20det swap soon. The thing is that its an auto trans. I belive I have just about everything. I have a clutch pedal, master cylinder, the two lines and Im gonna go ahead and buy a new clutch for the manual. I'm not sure what else I need. I just wonna make sure I have everything before I buy the motor, trans,& ecu, because if I could do that It wold be cheaper than buying a whole front clip. So the basic quistion is....what all it will take to swap it to a 5-speed?

i would have bought a NEW clutch master cylinder, as well as braided stainless steel clutch line(master to slave). Your also going to need a clutch slave cylinder, i would also get a brand new one of those to put on there.
Hopefully your clutch kit has a new throwout bearing and pilot bearing. If not get them. Also I would change the rear main oil seal while you got all this shit out. Lightly sand the flywheel with a DA sander to smooth it out and polish it up. Hopefully it is not too far gone and the teeth are in good shape if you are not buying an aftermarket one.
wiring will be self explanatory if you get the complete uncut wiring harness.

also if u want some tips:
I would take the transmission off the engine out of the car, do all of this work, then re-assemble it, then put the Motor/Tranny combo into the car. I personally like to remove the transmission first. In the end you still do the same amount of work, but it makes taking the engine in and out a BREEZE without the transmission attached. The tools I have make it easier to remove transmissions quickly though, so I would do it outside the car if your not an einstein at it to save you some time.
I've heard horror stories on here about people trying to take off bellhousing bolts with wrenches and stuff..... don't try that at home. If you lack the equiptment and experience on taking transmissions out, taking it apart out of the car makes it easier to get the bellhousing bolts off, as well as work on the clutch/flywheel/oil seal.
you might already be planning on this but if you already are its a good plan.

Nismo Slave Cylinder

you will also need the clutch fork, this is what the slave cylinder pushes on and it is a metal piece that sticks out of your transmission. If yours has this cool, it might not. If it doesn't, I MIGHT have one off a misc. 240sx transmission that could work I could send you.
