1999 XLS Suspension

I need to replace the Front and Rear suspension on my 99 XLS, looking at the top of the front shock absorbers it looks like there is no space and i need to remove the engine. Can anyone please confirm that i need to remove the engine, beacuse then i will just take it to a mechanic instead of myself doing the job.

You don't have to remove the engine. You should have no problem getting to it. Just use an open end wrench to hold the top of the shock and use a deep socket to pull out the bolt from the top. Then remove the bottom bolt and you should be home free.
