For the life of me, I can not find where to check the power steering fluid on my '99 3.8. Haynes says the resvoir is by the drive belt but I can't find it anywhere...now I feel like an idiot :) Where the heck is it?!
Thanks
Thanks

Towards the rear, hidden under the alt. You gotta really poke around if you don't have a light on it, and God help you if the engine is warm and you decide to check it blind...
It's a bad place to put the resivoir, I know, but hey. You're lucky to have that 3800. They're freakin' indestructable motors, and its a shame more Luminas weren't made with it.

Thanks, found it. Even after I knew where it was it took a little poking around with the light. I do love the car though. Haven't had any problems with the engine. No major repairs have had to be done and it's at 105,000. I had to replace the battery and cables and that's about it (whose idea was it to put the washer fluid resevoir on top of the battery anyhow?!)

It was MY idea! Muahaha!
I like how they handled the GA cars, they put the resivoir in the fenderwell and gave it a fill tube beside the battery. I did that with my 1999, I should photo it sometime. Its a lot more sensible to have liquid containers -away- from critical electrical components..
