y must people hate on stangs

i've come to realize that there are alot of people who hate on mustangs. they all seem to say the same thing that they are slow and can't do crap. because i like mustangs so much sumthimes that makes me mad:flipa: :biggrin2: to all those hatas. now i really want a 2003 mach 1:smoka:

Set your aim a little higher like a 2003 Cobra OOOORRRRR a 351SC Saleen. I like to see someone say a 500+HP Saleen can't do shit.

Most of the people that hate on stangs are the people who drive little rice rockets. They are jealous because their little four cylinder engines can never amount to what a V8 can.

This is a rather generic thread. The same can be said about almost every kind of car. Y'all don't particularly like my choice in cars, but I guarantee when a rice burner pulls up next to you and hit the fart pipe, I know that you want to get out of the car, rip him out of the car through the window, and learn him real good what a true performance car is. That said, there will always be other's out there that don't agree with your tastes. That's what makes competition so great.

Ok, first off I own a 92 Civic with a GSR swap. I have beaten a few Mustangs, from a roll and a stop. My brother owns a 99 GT and I have taken him 3 out of 4 times. Not by much. Then there are other Mustangs that can roast me. It's all fun. Anyway, my opinion is the Mustang is like the measuring stick. They are very popular and take well to mods. Right out of the box they perform good and aren't that expensive (relatively speaking). That's why when someone builds up a car or buys something else they always say "it'll beat a GT" or " almost as quick as a V6 Mustang". Most people know how they perform and use them to compare thier rides.

Most people hate Ford because of their experience with the company. Whether it be problems, or the attitudes of their employees. I've seen quite a few of them be real assholes over minor things. And so they hate the Mustang naturally because it comes from Ford. NOT to say any other company doesn't have assholes or problems in their cars from the factory, but just generally everyone seems to complain about Ford more.

Saleens are awesome, I've seen this really sweet Roush Mustang before. Had some crazy lookin triangular shaped exhaust pipes on the side in front of the tire. That was pretty damn cool. But as for something like a GT or a V6, it just don't feel as powerful as say a, Trans Am or a Z28.

:badass: I just did't like what ford did when they put things smaller than a V8 under the hood. This is suppose to be ford's fast car right?. Anything Cobra or higher can do alot but I just see to many of these little 3.8s driving around my town. Granted they have done some things to it but I think in the legend of the mustang it should be equiped with nothing but the best. My philosophy is If you want to make a car that looks fast it better be fast.

I was mad at the 2.4 mustang. And the mustang II. Other than that, I like mustangs, for formentionened reasons. I dont like some fords, alot of what ford does sometimes bugs me *3.8 with bad head gaskets* but all makers have some problems.

Yeah, my Mustang really sucks. I mean I will only have about 14k in it and it should put well over 500hp to the ground, and should be able to hold over a g on the skid pad. Yeah, Mustangs are huge peices of crap, the nerve of some people to think a mustang is cost effective muscle car.:D

I have a story relating to BLU CIVIC's post. My mom drives an 89' cutlass calais quad-4 and my dad has a 02' Sierra Z71. My dad was behind my mom on the way home on a 1 lane highway. My dad thought it would be funny to pass my mom leaving her in a cloud of dust, well, this didnt happen. He started to pass her and she hit the throttle, my dad was barely creeping past her at all because she was staying right there with him. She finally hit her brakes a little to let him get by. Moral of the story : V8's arent the gods of engines. I guess it also helped my mom that the guy that had it before her put a turbo on it too:D

So, if my V8 was behind your moms car, do think it would have been the same outcome?;) In a 1/4 mile V8s are very good for what they do. They are the only engines in the 5 sec range.

I like all cars, people who are narrow minded will always be narrow minded. I am not going to sit here and say one car is better than the other one, unless you throw a Yugo in the equation:D

Cars are built for different reasons, what you make of it is your personal choice. Why bust on someone just because he/she are different. I look at some cars (term RICED OUT) and I do not get it, but I am not going to go over to him and start crap just because he like something I do not understand.

That is being an individual, if we all had the same damn car where would the fun be in that? Let someone make up their choice, and respect it.

I own a 700 hp 97 Supra and I am one of those "mustang hatas". But before I get my arse ripped on this let me explain myself. It is not that I hate any and all Mustangs. In fact I enjoy the looks and the power of the Saleens and Rouschs alike. I love the raw torque that Mustangs can put to the ground...in fact a well built 500hp Mustang will just flat pull on me in the 1/8th mile. I accept these facts. This is why I hate...Because a vast majority of the Mustangs that I come across on the street or at the strip are being driven by teenage kids who have no buisness behind a high performace sports car. Not only that, they race anything and everything that will line up next to them, often they lose, not because of the ill performance of their car but simply because they cannot drive. Since they make up a majority of your market they give Mustangs a bad name. I do envy you Mustang enthusiats and wish that the imports had as die-hard a market as you all do...side note, my first car build was the restoration of a '68 Shelby Mustang GT 500. I'm still sad about selling it. It was an amazing car.

Can we talk imports a little?

What turbo do you have? Do you know anything about the new GT-RS that HKS has out?

Why do you hate Mustang II's if the little cars hadn't sold as well as they did Ford would have discontinued the mustang for good the mustang II was even named car of the year. They got great gas mileage and i have seen stock ones do 16.5 for only 145hp that's not bad and it's not far from the 79-85 model 5.0's, only 2700lbs for the hatch and the notchback was lighter than that.

The mustang IIs sold quite well. Its said that it didn't sell well because no one has a 74-78. ;) I wouldn't want one anyhow.

Btw, I'd agree with the Supra dude; the vast majority of mustang owners, v6 or otherwise, are teenage kids, who do have some sort of appreciation of mustangs and fast cars, but are total jackasses about it.

let me add that if there's one thing I can't stand. It would have to be a muscle car owner, that thinks just b/c he has more cylinder's than I have. I have no chance, and am not worth his gasoline.

I'm down with the stang, but i can't stand ford. Their SUV line up is horrid and they are the only car company on the planet that doesn't guarantee their seatbelts for the life of the car.
On the flip side it is my opinion that they can occasionally get things right. Take the 03 CORBA for example, or the return of the Mach 1. I think the f250 comes tight and their true classics are worship able. But as en entity, FOMO is a corner cutting bureaucracy of a huge corporation. And that they've bought up some of the greatest companys out there scares me a little. I'm afraid that they'll suckify Volvo, rover, jag and Austin. Ford could be perhaps the least environmentally conscious manufacturer of our time.

I can undserstand if someone doesn't like the look of my car, but it seems like everybody always bashes the mustang2 it deserves some credit a lot of people don't know a lot about them, it is true they weren't as powerful but their times were close to the foxbody mustang's times, but everybody likes the fox's way better. Everybody says that they were Ford's biggest mistake well if that were true why did they sell so good why were they so popular my dad says when he was my age mustang 2's were everywhere, it's like I said without them the mustang would have been discontinued you don't have to like them or want one or something like that but they do deserve some credit.

There really are very few people who will look a II, and say nice car. I would, but I am weird like that.

You do not have to justify what you drive to anyone. Make what you want of your car, and screw everyone else.

Lots of people have lots of stupid reasons to hate Mustangs and they always will(Part of being the BAD-ASS). I actually don't mind when people have valid reasons for not liking them I don't like every car made either. As for most imports pulling up to me and me not thinking my gas is worth it is true. I've been on other forums ont he web and I see the same thing, brand bashing. This makes it difficult for guys like me, because I like all brands of cars. If I had money I would have a garage like Jay Lenno, it is like a melting pot. Right now I drive a BMW and I am looking for a neat hot rod for the weekend to work on. I would like a 64-68 Mustang Fastback, or a 67-73 Firebird, 1970 Camaro. But when I go into those forums and read those comments, I feel like I stepped into a KKK convention. I feel like I should denounce every other brand of car so i could buy one of those. Sometimes I feel like leaving this car hobbie because it has turned into some sort of religion. Just look at those dumb stikers I see on some cars of some guy urinating on a Cevy logo. That is just plain dumb.

Thanks SkylineUSA, yeah its so hard to find a good rust free fastback, I am not sure if there were 64 fastback? But they ask $8,000 for a fastback with body filler all over and a quikie paint job, or $5,000 for one with the rust paint scheme. But with patience I will find my steed some day.

Stangs are sorry i must say...............everyone says they are good cuz they have "raw" power and can "smoke" all sorts of cars. If you are all about "smoking" cars then goto a nascar track and have your fun, but if you really want to see which car "smokes" the other, then goto a track(not an oval one or just a straight away) and see how the american cars perform on that. Power is not all a car needs and thats why i use american cars as my example. Japanese and European cars are like no other.

I would never just classify a whole group by the actions of a few. I would hope that everyone could take that approach.

What i meant about power isn't the only thing is someone could have 900hp but with crap tires and springs that won't take that power you lose lots on its way to the ground and if the driver can't use it it's useless too. But power is a huge factor.

You could say that about every car on the road, I see a lot more Civics buzzing around that are cosmetically modified and have no engine mods on them than I see Mustangs that are "riced out"

i agree but this thread is about mustangs isnt it?? i hate ricers and yes i own a civic but im tryin to get rid of it...im gonna get a dsm awd turbo...not to rice it out but to make it go fast all go no show..thats me i love speed
