Dashboard lights flicker

Last week driving from work all of my dashboards lights flickered and the radio turned on and off when I pressed on my brake. I got home and stopped and tried to restart the car and and there was nothing. I came back a couple of hours later and the alero started up just fine. I did put a new battery in last week because the wife, probably?, had the same problem when she drove the car to work. Any ideas?

Well, a bad cell in the batt, could infact make the alternater go bad as well. I did it to my car as well, it took care of that prob, also, all my guages wend hay wire and all mt dash worning lights cam on as well.
