Well, last week my car started misfiring really really bad to the point that it was anoying to drive, i had to let go and hit the gas many times until it was going back up, so i decided to change the plugs, because i didn't do it since i own the car ( 35.000 miles ) and also changed the air filter.
The problem was not gone, still doing the same, been very annyoing when idle or in low revs, so my next step was changing the Fuel Filter, after doing it , i discoverd that the fuel coming out of the filter was actually black, so the change of filters was a good idea, the car started running much much better, but now sometimes it still misfires not as bad as it used to, but still does, and is really annoying and specialy when trying to sell my car and people wanting to test it...
So if anyone has any ideas what else i can do please let me know.
Thanks.
Alex

Make sure you gapped the spark plugs correctly (.45-.50mm) I believe, not exactly sure!!!

What type of plugs did you put in? Did you replace the plug wires while you replaced the plugs? What year is your eclipse? Do you have any mods? We need more info. to help you.

is a 1997 Eclipse 2.4 GS Eclipse, No mods, didn't replace the wires they look ok ( seem to be in good shape ) i don't even remember what plugs i used .
The car now seems to run much much more better than what it used to, it doesn't choke that often ( only a few times in the low 1500 RPMs ) and if i let go and hit the gas again usually the problem is gone.
the problem is not even close to what it used to be but still doing it sometimes, today i will add again Fuel System Cleaner when filling my tank and see if it helps cleaning whatever is happening.

I would suggest figuring out what plugs you put in, and replacing the spark plug wires. You should have bought NGK, they tend to work best in our cars. The fuel system cleaner might be a good idea.

I had the exact same problem. Went through the same motions too. Replaced fuel filter and gas was black. Replaced plugs with ngk iridium's (didn't have to gap they were pregapped). Didn't change wires. Installed new air filter.
It was much better but wasn't gone completely. I ran about 2-3 tanks of gas through it and havn't seen a problem since. Note for those 2-3 tanks I went up to the highest grade 93. After I stopped noticing the problem with that grade of fuel I dropped back down to 91 and the problem no longer exists. Every ocne and a while when I first start it in the morning it does it once or twice if it's been setting for a while but id say its' 99% better then it was.
Just run a few tanks of gas though it, till it cleans out everything.
