hi, i got a 94 Pontiac Grand am with about 300 thousand k's on it, and just recently its been really hard on gas. Could it be that the ECM is finished.

Get it scanned for proper sensor operation, in good tune, runs ok? Not enough info here, what engine? What is your actual mileage??

Sorry about the info.. its a v6 3100 with exactly 296ks. The motor runs fine doesnt burn any oil.

No the car rolls fine just like its supposed 2. My father told me that it was the ECM since the car is old and has alot of millage. Can it be the ECM?
My sisters boyfriends truck is a chevy 5.7ltr v8 and gets better gas millage then my car...its terrible and expensive especially with the gas price.

The ecm is a possibility but I really doubt that it is your problem due to the fact that the car runs well otherwise. If the ECM was the problem you would see other drivability issues not just bad fuel mileage.
In order to increase mileage I would look at items like air filter, plugs and wires, O2 sensors and check for leaks. The first thing would be to put in a new air filter if it hasn't been changed in 20000km. The next thing would be to replace the O2 sensors, as they degrade they will tell the ecm to put more fuel into the engine than is actually needed causing a rich condition and poor mileage. You may also want to purchase a locking gas cap and check for fuel leaks.
