What does upgrading your MAF exactly do?? Cuz i was lookin at upgrading mine to a 300zx one....I have an RB25...is that a wise decision???

just the diameter is larger to allow for more airflow.. isnt the rb25 maf the same size as the 300zx one?

IDK...maybe ill check the sizes out first...i just see ppl talkin bout upgrading to a 300zx maf...im assuming they were talkin bout sr20's then..

It is capable of metering more air. The stocker maxxes at 1v IIRC. The 300zx MAFS maxxes at 5v.

And KA's.

Look for a thread from a couple days ago to find out how to identify MAFS's that are compatible with the 300ZX MAFS.

And KA's.
The voltage, nor the diameter are the sole reasoning why the Z32 MAF resolutes more air.
It's both combined.
Thats why larger MAFs like the Q45 unit don't meter as much air on it's voltage spectrum compared to the smaller Z32 unit.
For those that can't understand that:
X amt of Airflow = 1.9v on a N62 MAF (Z32)
X amt of Airflow = 2.7v on a N60 MAF (Maxima)

So i should just stick with my Rb one??

If you are under 300whp, yes.
If you are going over 300whp then no, you will need to upgrade to the Z32 AFM.

Alright thanks man...im lookin at pushin bout 350hp or so, so ill just upgrade that....
