Recirculate your BOV to the intake pipe.

check all of your intercooler pipes and couplers for leaks (http://forums.nicoclub.com/zerothread?id=113785 )
sounds like you have a boost leak, or does it backfire after you shift?
because if it does its most likely your aptmospheric bov.

Fouled Sparkplugs - If you dont recirc the BOV then you'll go through them every three months or so...
Also it may be the colder weather.

Backfiring under acceleration - Suddenly retarded timing, more than likely it's knock or something electrical.
Backfiring while shifting - Normal
