I have alot of brake jobs on alot of GM cars in the past, but not antilock. When compressing the piston in the caliper, is there any difference? Basically, what is different when doing a brake job an a conventional system and the antilock system??

Hopefully a GM tech on here can answer that for sure, but, the local garage that does my muffler work told me that thre was no difference, they still do the same way for either. I did see on the Blazer forum recently where it was the opinion of one fellow that it is best to drain fluid out of caliper when compressing rather than compress the caliper as normal, as old crap in lines could "possibly" find its way "backwards" into the anti lock system. Do not know that I buy that myself, nor did others. Just replaced my rotors and hoses on my Blazer(anti lock), did pretty much same thing I would on my 91 Corsica(Corsica is not anti lock). Just watch out for the sensor. Anyone with information to the contrary please advise.

If it looks dirty and and dark as a precaution is recommended to open the bleeder, use a piece of clear tubing into a jar of clean fluid and retract the pistons, pretty standard practice in my shop, rear discs as well.
