NEw beetle radio issues

Hi all
Im the new gal in here so like hey whats up!?

Ok so I Have a 2000 newbeelte and I recently had to do some work on the fuses... well my radio locked and I had to unlock it... well
Now my radio doesnt turn off when I remove the key...
I have to turn off the radio by pressing the off switch...
I would like to put it back to normal but I have no idea...

Also- is there a fuse lay out pdf floating arround cuz I swear the diagram I have is totally out there. Cant make heads or tails of it...

Check your owner's manual - you should be able to program the radio to shut off with the key. - If not, call the dealer and talk to someone on the service desk. You shouldn't have to bring the car in to get that info.

LIke I didnt get a manual and I dont think anyone has ever had this problem...

What do you mean by "doing some fuse work".

The radio is supposed to stay on untill the driver door is opened. Thats normal.

Ok basicaly here is what it all lead to...

THe gas flapper wouldnt work... I could hit the button a hundred times and it make a noise but wouldnt open. So I got out my volt ohm meter and and started diagnosing the issue...
turns out that the switch itself was bad and I later replaced it(after testing the fuses which I moved around a bit and had to put back cuz the engine wouldnt start and the radio locked up) wellllllll I got the fuses back sept for the one that handles the defroster but my diagram not too good. doesnt seem to make any sence to me so I figuer I have the wrong fuse diagram. Nothing on line so Igot some 15 amp fuses(good middle of the road current rating) and pluged any empty hole...

I had went down to vw and got a switch for the gas flapper ($28) and replaced it on the spot...
(my horn relay is still not working grrrrrrrrrrrr- different issue) they gave me the code for my radio and we got it back but! it doenst turn off anymore when I remove the key...so Now Im not sure what the problem is...
