my friends brand new tC gave me a pretty good run on street drags..
my cars a 5.7 formy 'bird..
it seemed like his car had traction control and that was screwing his launch up? cuz he couldnt burn the guy out..and my old 87 corolla used to be able to burn out.. so neways, i was wondering..
can my 88 formy (5.7) take a new stang(v6)?
i havent done any mods yet..
planning on nos, exhaust..
i want it in the 13;s eventually..but since gas is xp, i cant really do anything drastic..like full on hi-rise cams, etc etc..
what have you guys raced recently, btw?

The New V6 Stang could be a drivers race or he could beat you. I have heard stuff about them being pretty quick but haven't seen it for myself but I slaughtered a new GT :iceslolan, although I am not exactly stock.

God I hate the tC. Did you beat him? My car is too slow to take of of these, but their top end sucks and most people I've seen can't launch them for poop. My little civic could even keep pace with one on the highway, I'm hoping you pulled a bit on him.
You have an auto, right? I'm pretty sure that's all the '88 5.7s came in, but I could be wrong. I remember talking to a wise board member who said if you own an auto and want to launch good, you stall the torqe converter. You can do that by pressing your foot down on the brake and give it as much gas as you can up until the point where it would start to move. When the the light goes green or the flagger flags you, let go of the brake and punch it. You should be making the right amount of power not to worry too much about traction. Why do I mention this? Because I think an '05 V6 stang MIGHT take you.:/
The intake in you car is pretty restrictive. Get a cheap aftermarket one with a K&N filter if you want to start modding that car. I know A guy with a '91 Formula(know him because I was going to buy the car off of him but couldn't afford insurance) and he told me that the formulawas more restrictive than the Camaro's intake of that year and an aftermarked one could even be rated by the 'seat of your pants' meter. You could net around 20hp at the crank from that, alone. Maybe more, I dont' know.
I'm pretty bored to be posting here bench racing, so please forgive me.:/

haha nah, thanks guys.. yeah, i was thinking of getting a new air intake..my camaro, its a 2.8 has those snorkel intakes? i was like, why does my 5.7 have only one, while the v6 has a dual?!
and yeah, i pulled at least 1 car length ahead by the time we were at 60ish when i just stopped gassing it..
yeah, my car is auto, they only offered the 5.7 w. auto because of smog regulations or so ive heard..
ill be sure to try stalling the converter...
my friend has a 04 v6 stang and i keep telling him to race me so i know if i can pick on mustangs or not.. hahah he doesnt wanna tho, too new he says..

Ya if you have a 5.7 350 i hope you can take a v6. If not there is somthing rong. About the Gt mustangs,ya they have to be the slowest v8 i have ever say in my life. I see all kinds of 4,and 6's beat them all the time. Ford needs to make a real car. The only fast ones they make are the cobras and how manny do you see? not manny because they are so expensive you get a camaro or firebird and do little work to it and be the same or more powerful than it.

yeah, well i finally figured out the reason why the tC was giving me a pretty good run,
i kinda suspected my tranny was shot..cuz i could feel it shifting late, but i figured it was fine cuz i just got it overhauled...
good thing i got a 1 yr warranty on it, the thing fried when i was trying to merge on the freeway!!
i gassed it, and the trans misshifted, or something..and my car just hit redline and the trans stopped working, eithier after the redline or before.. i didnt feel a kick after the redline so im guessing it stopped before..
that was pretty gay, if i may add -_-.
