accident damage question

Today while traveling on a two lane road, i was in the right lane and hard a car to the left of me traveling in the passing lane. rather than a shoulder, there was a approx 3 foot wide median of curb height on my right.

i guess she didnt see me, but she turned right into me. i jammed ont eh brakes but wasnt stopping quick enough so i had to swerve up on the median. i impacted the curb at about 40 mph, although somehow my tires did not pop. after about 20 feet with both my rightside tires on the median and the left tires on the road, the car came to a stop.

there appeared to be no damage to the car. how this is possible i do not know. when i drive car, the alignment seems to be ok as the car tracks straight. while braking, the car does not seem to pull to either side.

is there any other tests i can run to see if anything was damaged. if so im gonna go after the person as i got their license plate number.

First guess: Zero problems. Welcome to the wonderful world of vehicles that AREN'T tin cans.

I would have the tires and wheels looked at by a competent shop, and have them put the vehicle on the alignment rack to check the alignment. The tires could have "hidden" damage, and the rims could be bent or cracked. You "might" have bent control arms, etc. Best to have it inspected.

That said, I wouldn't expect any damage. And yes, call the cops and give them the license number. You should have done that as priority #1 after the incident happened. DO NOT WAIT TO FIND DAMAGE. REPORT IT NOW.
