okokok... what would you do???

Maro needs fixed... all the crap I've asked about for the last 6 months or so still hasn't been done, let alone started, because no extra money.

I have the money, barely, to make the loan payments and scrape by with the rest of my bills. BUT I don't have the $$$$$$$$$$$$$ it's going to take to make it right... keep in mind I am an anal-retentive CPA, so if it ain't exactly perfect, it ain't no good.

Should I drop 10 and punt... or hang onto it and hope that the extra .15¢ per month I've got extra adds up to the money I need to make it right, before I get too old to drive the damn thing???

(I am seriously thinking of selling it, buying a YZF-R7, Interceptor or a Ninja 750. A new bike will be.. not broken, and cost at most $20.00 to fill up rather than at least $60, and get like 30 MPG more than my Maro. I haven't put more than 50 miles on it in 6 months, and am trying to decide if it's worth the extra $300 per month to keep it in my garage while I scrape up the 3000 - 4000 I'm gonna need to make it reliable.)

I think I'm gonna cry... no wait.... I AM crying. this fucking sucks.

thats an awesome camaro you have and i'd hate to see it go to someone who would park it in a field or something and let it go to waste but i'd love to have a bike and would consider trading my 'maro off too for one....imo i would say to keep the camaro, but thats just my opinion...maybe after you get the loan paid off you can fix her back to perfect..... i know i would regret getting rid of that car! but thats just me....

The bike may sound thrilling.....we just lost our 4th employee on a particular stretch of road. All 4 were killed on bikes and the latest was torn in half when his body hit the guard rail. If you get one, don't ride it like a jackass and watch out for yourself...cause no one else is looking out for you.

Yeah, the key is to wait. If you really want to keep your maro, you should give the situation time and something might come up, especially one that will sway your decision. But remember, there's always going to be someone, somewhere saying "I wish i still had that car", do you want to be that person?

Although the world isn't perfect, and no one's holding a gun to your head. This is the camaro forum :iceslolan

I'd keep the Camaro, just because I know it will make more people turn heads than the bike.

Hey Earl I have been in a semi-similar situation... Just remember at the end of the day you can save money and put it into the Maro or into an Emergency. You can't take money out of the Maro you put in for a new tranny for the Emergency.

Also you can get a 2002 SS probably which is a hell of alot more safe. Bikes = Portable Organ Doners (Fast but fun tho)

lastly, if money is tight, unfortunately there will always be a Maro in the future but you got to take care of whats important, the home

thats my 0.02$

Well his car is more rare than the bike (Unless im missing something) So i'd definately keep the Camaro over getting a bike.

I hate bikes period, so my opinion is obvious.

I would ASK $14,500 not fixed - $18,000-$20,000 fixed. Wouldn't go below $14,500.

Jim,

winter is almost upon us. I'd say keep the car, and tuck it away for the winter. Over the course of the winter, do like a house, one thing at a time and get it to where you want it. you can't get discouraged by money issues. after I lost my first camaro, I thought I'd never have another in my stable again. Luckily my wife shares the missed compassion for the car so after 7 long years waiting for the 'w'right one to come along, it did.

And, on a personal note, although I know you are not the type of person to be a complete jackass on the bike, but my first accident ever involved 2 crotch rockets that decided to gun a light while I had the right of way to make a left turn. The first bike hit the right front fender and the dude flew over the lenght of my car (78 regal) and finally made contact mid trunk while the second plowed straight into the quarter panel and both the driver and his rider where ejected clear over the entire car. 2 moths later, none of them made the traffic court hearing because they were still in the hospital. Let alone that night I speant a good few hours pulling hair and skin from the trim of my car. So my 2 cents there on bikes.

But truely, hold on to the car as it is a rare catch and put whatever little mad money that may come along from time to time and it will all come together. Remember, I still have a car in my garage that every year )6 now) I say I'm going to finish, but next thing you now june 1st rolls around and it's like the cubs, wait til next year.
