BOV Opinions

I have been looking around for a BOV for the Eclipse. I noticed a lot of people have the Greddy Type S BOV. Is it really worth the $200 ? I see a lot of Blow off valves that are way cheaper and have the same stats as the Type S. Oh yeah its gotta be loud :) , I dont wanna feel like driving the RS again and besides I am addicted to the sound.

I just got a greddy type s bov and I am very satisfied with it. Well worth the $200. Oh, and yes it is very loud.

What is the difference between the Greddy Type S and Greddy Type RS BOV ??

RS won't recirculate unless you buy the adapter for it. Type S will recirculate right out of the box. The type RS is supposedly better and can hold more boost than the type S. I'm happy with my type S.

EDIT: the RS bov link you have there is a knock-off. It isn't Greddy. I wouldn't trust any knock-offs from ebay. :2cents:

I've run the RS and the S on my car before. I like them both, they both hold boost just fine, supposedly the RS can hold more boost, but I"m not boosting that high anyway. In any case, don't buy the knock-off's from Ebay, they usually destroy themselves within a month or so. (I've seen this in person) Go with the S or Type RS, if you're going to vent, make sure you vent properly, if you vent without a GM MAF + TRANSLATOR you will run pig rich inbetween shifts!!!! The Type S is a whistle and the RS is like a "pssshhhhh"

How is that blitz bov?

I'm pretty happy with my HKS, although i highly recommend getting the recirculation kit for it.

Get the type S...it's great at holding streetable boost and sounds the nicest.

i have the type s but love the sound of the tial!

I went with a 1g. $35 off ebay and I saved the other $165 and spent that on other things.

Whatever happened to the whole "sleeper" idea? I would personally want something quiet... then again, I've dumped the exhaust at the end of the downpipe. lol

I liked my Tial alot.

If or whenever I go back to turbo. Tial is my choice. Subtle when cruising, defined when boosted.

Is a GM MAF and Translator the only way to blow atmosphere without having to worry about running too rich?

Just because people have had problems with something doesn't mean people shouldn't buy it. DSMs for example. People have had problems with the real type s too but that's probably cause it was set up wrong. Anyway, Prostreet sells the ebay knockoffs too (for a lot more than ebay).
