1999 Honda Civic Ex Vtec 5speed is it fast?

Yah ok my freind got a 1999 honda civic ex 5speed vtec today he put a injen intake and a exhuast on it.... and lowered it on coilover's i was wondering how fast these ex's usually run the 1/4 mile in because i have a 2001 civic ex vtec 5speed with intake and exhuast should i be worried bout him beating me? or do the older ex's run slower? i run a 16.0 flat in the 1/4 mile.... help me out!!!!!!!

how fast is a 99 EX Vtec... depends on who you ask some people think they are really fast others like well they are not
I guess it depends on what car you drive if you drive a pos nova/geo or something then yea its sick fast =)


as far as your question about whos faster Ive raced a few EXs and for the most part they are not fast I raced a 2001EX fully stock last week and he put up a much better fight then any older EX I've raced

I think you two should go to the track have fun and then swap times and see who wins

it's all about the driver. my 97 HB, d16y7(106HP) engine can take out an integra ls(90-2000). the new civic sux as much as the old one. it's all about balance, weight, and so on. most importantly is the driver.
