Hello all,
I'm having a problem my SC. The starter kicks, the engine turns over once then stops and there is also the smell of gas afterward.
Had it tuned up about three years ago with plat plugs. I checked the fuel shut off switch in the trunk and it wasn't tripped.
So far as I can tell the elec. system is fine, the smell of gas tells me the fuel pump is doing its job. I'll be replacing the fuel and air filter this week.
I'd appreicate any suggestions or advice from the group.
Thanks in advance.

Are you saying that the engine won't continue to turn over when you have the key in the start position?

Hi 97Bird,
Right. I must have tried a dozen times. I even gave it some gas a few times while trying.

Check my response to the thread "89 Thunderbird will not start when hot". Make sure a load test is done to the battery!!!!
