Conversion

Whats up guys?

Well im planin on doing the conversion from auto to manual tomorrow ,i found another geo so im taking everything of off it i would like to know if anyone did this and what where the problems i took my motor and trans out today everything seems the same but i just wonder where and how does the cluch padel work is there a location for it in my automatic body oh the Car is 1991 Geo Metro 1.0L im puthing the same motor in there just the manual any info would be great ill keep you guys posted oh and yea Everthing is gonna cost me from junkyard $375 bucks so i cant ressit it

you need to replace the clutch/brake pedal assemble and drill 3 holes in firewall where the clutch cable comes though. when you remove the automatic brake pedal you will see 2 nuts welded to the firewall from the inteior side. need to drill through center so you can put in bolts from engine side and drill a bigger hole between them where cable comes though. you will need to cut off automatic mount on drivers side frame rail and drill 4 holes through for manual mount. shiter will unbolt and remve with 4 nuts and you can swap that over. will need to drop steering column down and take the cable out of back of ignition switch and screw in something to hold it out or you won't be able to take key out. will also need to find the biggest 2 wires going to the switch on tranny and join them together or car will not crank over

ok i got the cable done for cluch today and got the got the padels in,Got the shifter in , took the cable out of the revisre system, now do i need to put in the ecu i got or i can just use mine,and what color are those wires,and where do i plug the sensor thats on the cluch padel thanks agaian

you can use your ecu, the wires for clutch switch are not there, you can split the wire to neutral safety switch or just not bother to hook it up and make sure you never start it in gear

ok Thanks alot,now you said i have to contect two wires from my auto trans now there where two plugs that i am not gonna use The white plug whit two wires on it and the Silver/gray plug that im also not gonna use wich one of these plugs i have to join the wires?

Well got my car runing and just wanted to add that it is worth the time and money to do conversion from auto to manual plus it goes alot better then whit auto now im so happy and i love my Geo even more
