Where might I find such a truck? I live in Irvine CA. and to rent a U-haul 10 footer will cost me $1300. I have a another car I'm consiering selling which i can get something like 2800 for.
so with about 4000, i would think I can buy an used cargo truck. But I have no idea where to look nor what models are out there.
can you guys suggest soemthing?
To move out of california is expensive.
Thanks all

You might take a look at a Chevy Astro, it might be a little small but you can find a good one with your budget.

what are some rugged cargo van models? Which ones last longer?
I guess it depends on how much the van was abused...
In general what are some good buys?
Astro is too small I want a van that can hold double size bed/frame, chairs boxes etc.

Chevy/GMC 2500 and 3500 are have very durable engines and transmissions. They're generally preferred over ford vans if you're going cheap.

I can't think of the name of the place, but on Roscoe Blvd at either Canoga or Topanga Cyn there is a dealer who does almost all retired fleet vehicles. Most of his stuff is just cube vans, flat beds, stake bodies, and medium duty trucks. Its in Winnetka, which is up to the northwest of VanNuys in the valley.
