I have a 92 camery, car overheated (Son was not looking at the gauges), looks like coolant system had and when cranking has back pressure, blow thru rad cap. I suspect crack head , blowed gasket, no water in oil, just back pressure when trying to start, may pull plugs and check for water. Any other thoughts,

Do a compression test, or a leakdown test, both will confirm the same thing.
The head gaskets blew. The head<s>/block shouldn't be cracked in the least bit. Especially if it's a v6, they're 400lb tanks.

It wouldn't have mattered if he looked at the gauges or not. By the time coolant heats up, if you shut the engine off, the temperature is just going to rise for 15-20 min. That's pleanty to unseat a gasket most of the time.
