Hi all,
What an awesome site. I've been truly inspired by some of the models being built here.
Yes I'm a newbee!
I'm wanting to do a conversion on the 1/12 Revell F40 to make it the same as the F40 Pilot sponsored car that competed in Le-Mans, but I need some good reference pics / links (especially interior and engine). Any help would be appreciated.
If all goes smoothly I will post pics of the buildup as I will be machining, photoetching, casting various parts as needed (with skills learned from this very site!).
Once again, awesome, keep up the good work.

Welcome to AF!
As far as finding reference material, good luck. While there is no shortage at all of material for the production F40, finding pics of a specific competition car is much, much harder. It may be that what you're looking for doesn't exist. You may get lucky, and someone here may have dozens of pics of it that they shot at Goodwood or the like, but you'll probably have to resort to a good bit of speculation.
I've always assumed that the LM and GT versions of the F40 were pretty similar to the production version, but I can't verify that. I would expect some possible changes in oil cooler sizes and/or placements, exhaust configuration (no muffler/resonator), possibly larger turbos, and a fire supression system added- beyond that, it was pretty quick out of the box.

Hi,
Thanks for the quick replies.
There are plenty of external pics of this car, but I may have to guestimate the interior a bit.
Thanks again.
