94 gmc 4.3 hard start and engine surge

when my truck is cold i have to give it about 3/4 gas to get it to start and after it warms up the engine light comes on and it starts to surge and it will die at stop lights .iv all ready put a fuel pump on it , and iv cleaned the egr valve about ten times to get those little peices of carbon out of it ,but iv never put a new egr valve on it yet ,thanks alot if you can help

Check all of your vacuum hoses, it could also be a MAP sensor, there would probably be a "check engine soon" light on if it was the MAP though.
Also, check the ignition timing.
