97 Jimmy No start no crank

Got it fixed, see bottom post.This problem gradually got worse over 2 mos and now it won't start at all. It doesn't crank. I turn the key to start and hear a relay make in the glove box but nothing else. I have replaced the battery, battery cables, starter and ignition switch wiring harness not the key cylinder, I also have swapped the relays around in the glove box. I have tried to wiggle the shifter while having the key in start mode and nothing. My next try will be to jumper the neutral safety switch on the tranny and see if that does it. Does anyone know if the VCM or Ecm can cause this?? I pulled the key warning buzzer box as it was driving me crazy. Thanks for any help. Hair all pulled out already...

Have you tested the current battery? Is it dead? If so I would look into your alternator.....Does jumping the truck work?

New alternator, new battery, new cables, new starter, new ign sw. It started two times with the new stuff but have turn the key 20 or so times before it will crank it over. voltage is 12.5 at battery. Jumping doesn't do it. It won't crank at all.

Silly question, when you did the new battery cables, did you sand down the portion of the block where it grounds to? Also go back over the cables and make sure they're tight.

I think I got it. yes I scraped the motor conn for the ground. I kept looking at the posts on this forum and read one guy had trouble and took it to 4 mechanics to no avail. The last one unhooked the computer under the hood and just rehooked everything and it started. I just went out and tried it and sure enough it worked. I wasn't hearing the fuel pump turn on before and now it does when I turn the key to on. WHEN ALL ELSE FAILS, UNHOOK THE COMPUER AND REHHOOK IT UP AND LIKE MAJIC IT STARTS AGAIN....Thanks for the help. Maybe my hair will grow back now!!!
