You can use the negative coil wire which white/blue but I suggest not running wires through the fire wall when you dont have to. Your better off using the blue behind the guage cluster like this - http://www.westworld.com/~joe_r/tach/tachinst.html

well i alreayd had hoels in my firewall. dont ask rookie audio mistake.and its all fairly hidden. as for the tach she runs nice.

Yea that is true you can use that wire inside the car i have just allways used the one outside of the car.

I say use both, you can never have too many. And use 1/0 wire, on both of them.
