? about 90 camary interior light

hi to any one that reads this any info would be appreciated.
ill get right to my ? i have a 90 camary dx i just recently after two years of having the car decided to finally change the rear interior light it works
my promblem is and as vain as this may seem its also supposed to come on when u open the door but it does not any one out there that has even a guess please let me know thank you sincerly janet

Well, i also have the same car with the same problem, and with all the wear and tear that the car gets with the doors closing over the years you might have a problem with the switches that operates the light when you open the door or close it. it should be located on the inside part of the body where the door closes, not on the door, and its basically a button. mess with the button to see if the light flickers on and off. if it does then its just a problem with the button.

the reason the light doesn't come on is most likely a bad connection on the (on,off,door) light switch. the switch in my 1989 camry has the same problem as your car. most older camrys including other older toyota makes/models have this familiar problem. :mad:
You could go to the toyota dealer and get a replacement switch or put in a aftermarket one if this feature is really important to you. with an aftermarket switch it wont be a perfect fit :banghead: but will be cheaper than a switch from the toyota dealer. :2cents: good luck.
