Cheap rocket launch

Sorry, someone (can't remember who) wanted to know how to launch at the track and street. He got some good responses, but he should also look for some used slicks or what I like on the street and at the track is new or used soft to medium compound McCreary dirt track tires!! On the street they were great, do a quick burnout (til you see smoke) and launch at about 1500rpm-2500rpm. Be carefull though they have soft sidewalls so the car may sway alittle at higher mph. But at the track all I have to say is HOLY SH......!!!! I'd do a little more of a burnout(not much more) and launch at 4000rpm-4500rpm. I can't remember what my 60ft. time was (5 years ago) but it was under 2. I would've went higher rpms but I had stock gears and cluth so I was scared to break. I'd run about 11-13 pounds of pressure. That launch at 4-4500rpm was awsome! This was with a 1992 5.0 5spd. DAMN I SHOULD HAVE KEPT THAT CAR!! I'm not sure about the newer 4.6, I do know they like higher rpm's though so try launching at higher rpms. I also thought an 03 GT should run faster than 14.4 at 96 (correct me if I'm wrong). If you can't get it to run faster just remember to drive it like you stole it!! Oh yeah, those tires used should run about $50-$100 for both. Good luck!!

You have bigger nads than I :)

I would not risk my car using those, but that is just me.
