Begging For Help

I have a 98 kia Sephia, 95,000+miles. Everytime I fuel up, my car will not start right away. When it finally does, I have to keep my foot on the gas pedal or it stalls. Yesterday, I filled up and it wouldn't start and as I was trying to get it going, it backfired. Scared the crap out me and probably everyone else at the station. Anyone have ANY idea what could possibly be wrong THIS time?
