96 Ford escort running rough

Ok, I have a 1996 LX 1.9 auto. for the past few weeks it's been running rough. Hooked up a (very cool) code reader to it and told me cylinder number 1 was misfiring quite frequently and the others were misfiring a few times, and also the engine in general was running lean when it was warmed up. Now I've checked things like vacume lines, they all look fine. It's getting spark, I've taken the plug out and it's fine, and I've cleaned the MAS. The thing is when the engines cold, or when the rpms are a little higher (like 2k or higher) then it doesn't seem to be missing a cylinder. As most of you know these cars arnt exactly "powerfull" and I'm pretty sure it's not missing any power when I need it, also, it doesn't run rough at all, it runs smooth. The problem is after the engine is warmed up and I'm cruising around town, at like sub 2k rpm range, it runs pretty rough. Now I'm not super knowledgable with cars, but I'd like to think I understand a few things. I think that the lean condition has something to do with it, and the reason it runs good when it's cold is because to my knowledge, most engines run rich when they're cold. Now I'm kinda thinking it could be either a faulty TPS, Mass air flow sensor or the 02 sensor. Does this seem like a good direction to follow? Also, I should add that the fuel pump & filter has been replaced, and the plugs and wires have been replaced recently aswell.

Also, on another note, I get pulsating feeling from my brakes, I noticed a few other people post with this problem with no responses, I have replaced the brake pads and shoes not too long ago. Priced some new rotors, just wondering if it's worth it or what. I've bled the lines like 20 times... lol. I had this same problem with another escort I owned, so I'm just wondering if it's some weird problem with escorts, or whats the deal. Anyways, any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

The pulsing in the brake pedal is normally caused by warped rotors.

Might get the compression checked on your engine and a vacuum test.

Anti-lock brakes sometimes and on certain models always, the brake pedal will pulsate when you apply the brake firmly. That means they are working correctly, the anti-lock part of it anyway. Im not saying that there may not be a problem with your rotors, just something to think about.

I don't have anti lock system, thanks anyways though!. Is there an easy way to do a vacume test?Would I just check the presure at the fuel rail?

Have you ever replaced the ignition wires in this vehicle?

Well, if you're talking about the plug wires, then yeah, I replaced them a couple of months ago, and the cylinders are all getting spark

A vacuum test shows how hard the engine is sucking air in. You have to do the test with a vacuum gage. Not much to it. That's the best way to see if you have a vacuum leak.

ok, cool thanks. I'm currently trying to figure out front end problems, nothing major but it's posing a bigger threat, so the running rough is on the back burner for now.
