Hey!
I have a 2005 mazda 6, 4 cyl, 15,000 kms,5spd manual. I think that my RPM on the highway is too high. I've asked the dealership and they told me that it's normal. But it still seems to high to me. In fifth gear on the highway, going 110km/hour or 65mph my rpm is about 3250. Can anyone else verify that thiers is the same or if it is higher or lower.
Thanks

Your rpm in final gear should be that high for 65 mph. 80 Mph should be 4K.
Sounds like you have a clutch going out. Soon you will need to replace yes.

I just bought a Mazda6 GS Sedan and I noticed as well that the RPM at 100km/hour is 3000rpm. At 110km/h, it's a little higher, I'd say around 3250 as well. I guess it's normal, but it does seem a tad high. I know that 4 cylinders have to have higher rpms to maintain the same speed as 6 cylinder vehicles, but I recall driving other 4 cylinder vehicles that were not quite that high.
