sway bar links

I have a 2002 TB 4x4. My wife recently took it in for a recall check and the dealer said that all four sway bar links were broken and need replacement.

I looked at the links and none of them looked to be in bad shape. None are cracked and all have reasonable movement without being loose.

How do I know if the links are broken? What is the best way to check other then visual inspection?

Thanks in advance for you help.

Does the car handle bad or make any unusual noises? I would think that if they were acually broken you would atleast feel the car driving differently

I agree with tahawus, I replaced 1 front and 1 rear so far, but I used a NAPA parts in the front, it is greaseable too. They now make them for the rear by now.
