Hello,
My 1992 Eagle Talon Tsi.. Last week after a quick acceleration I released my foot from the gas peddle and the car instantly lost power, but then quickly regained it (about a 1-2 second loss)? After it regains power the "check engine" light came on for about 10 seconds and then went away. This has happend a few times, however just the last day or two the "check engine" light appears with no rhym or reason and will stay on for 20-30 seconds? It has been coming on and off now a few times a day, generally while I am driving anywhere from 20-80 mph. Does anyone know what my car is trying to tell me?

My psychic powers tell me you need to take your car in to have the codes read. Autozone, dealer, Pep Boys, any place like that has the equipment. Dealer might charge you something though. Get the codes and then come back and post them.

I had that problem as well, I got it checked out and the code had something to do with secondary air flow management or something. I could never figure it out and just this morning my car was about to do that jerk and flash the engine light - but instead it decided to drop the speedometer and rpm gauge to zero, and about 5-10 seconds later the whole car cut off, it turns over but never starts. Good luck with figuring it out, I'm trying to figure mine out ;/

Come to find out that secondary air management code I got was a recall from mitsubishi, you might want to go to a dealership and get it diagnosed and maybe you can get something out of it.

Replace the TPS. Its the throttle position sensor. Easy replacement. Should only cost like $50 or so. Not hard. I believe it's on the TB
