Dear all, I am trying to build my first car, and I saw some tutorials about using flocking to mimic the "carpet-look". But my local stores don't have it. Is there any other thing to replace the flocking or any other ways to get the carpet-look? Thanks a lot! :p

Scale Motorsport has Faux Fabrix textured spray paint. you could use that

also, alot of hardware stores carry similar items called "suede" paint. which is textured.

you can mail order flocking form several places including ebay (look for seller katevo - very economical source) and a few aftermarket sellers (eg detailmaster)

there is one more solution, self adshive wall paper, it is thin so it could be used in cars. It can be bought in any home shop that carryes wall papers.
Here is sample on my 1/9 bike

Hey Rob, this one was light gray and I just painted it with permanent marker, my home shope have them in blue, black, gray and green but this gray is the best because you can paint it whatever you like. It is caled velur carpet, I am sure you can find it on wall paper departement in any larger store, sheet is 50 cm wide and 10m long rolled in tube.

When i want to do a color that my lhs doesnt carry flocking in, I use self adhesive felt sheets from walmart, they're a little to thick for use on seets but they look alright for carpets and the stuff is pretty cheap, like $0.99 per sheet

I also vote for Katevo. Klutz100 kindly recommended this seller to me, and it was very good value for money. I like using white glue and bagged flocking. It's easy to use, even I managed to use it so it must be easy..

Ken's Fuzzi Fur is great flocking for model cars. It comes in a wide variety of colors, and it's pretty inexpensive. I don't know what shipping is from online sources, but here's one:

Krylon's "Make-It-Suede" also works well, is water based and can be overcoated with any Tamiya color...
